Job Title: Structural Engineer

City: Bellevue

State: WA

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Conduct detailed structural design and analysis of hydraulic civil infrastructure, including flood walls, navigation locks, dam structures, fish passage structures, waterfront structures and pump stations.

  • Utilize advanced structural design software, including SAP 2000, SAFE, ANSYS SpaceClaim, PY Wall, GROUP, L-Pile, and Mathcad, to perform modeling and simulations specific to hydraulic applications.

  • Produce accurate calculations in accordance with relevant engineering codes and standards, including AISC 360-2016 and ACI 318.

  • Familiarity with US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) publications and Engineer Manuals is preferred for project design compliance in hydraulic infrastructure.

  • Perform thorough quality control checks using Bluebeam for markups on calculations, drawings, and quantities to ensure accuracy and adherence to project specifications.

  • Investigate and analyze various design options specific to hydraulic civil infrastructure, documenting findings and recommendations for review by senior engineers.

  • Develop and interpret structural design plans with a focus on hydraulic performance and compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Address engineering challenges related to hydraulic systems by applying a combination of design standards and innovative methods developed from previous projects.

  • Review and respond to shop drawings and Requests for Information (RFIs) during construction phases, ensuring compliance with design intent and hydraulic performance criteria.

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to provide essential information for incorporation into project specifications.

  • Assign tasks and oversee the work of junior engineers, checking design calculations and quantities to maintain project integrity in hydraulic infrastructure projects.

  • Coordinate with other departments to research and determine the most appropriate course of action for project-related issues.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 5 years of experience in job offered or 5 years of experience in the Related Occupation.

JOB TIME: Full Time

SALARY RANGE: $131,373.00 to $135,000.00/year
