Technical Specialists for Bangladesh Multispecies Biodiversity Conservation Activity
Tetra Tech International Development is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for technical positions on an anticipated USAID-funded program in Bangladesh.
Project Description / Summary:
The anticipated 5-year USAID-funded initiative titled Bangladesh Multispecies Biodiversity Conservation Activity aims to improve the conservation and protection status of key wildlife species in Bangladesh through a comprehensive wildlife conservation approach informed by research. Target species include Bengal Tigers, Asian Elephants, turtles, tortoises, pangolins, and potentially sharks and rays. Conservation efforts will focus on social and scientific research, community-government-led actions, citizen engagement (including journalists and youth), private sector engagement and awareness, stronger political commitment, and coordination across various government and non-government agencies. This Activity also includes countering illegal logging and wildlife crime through improved enforcement actions.
The project will work collaboratively with various government agencies, conservation organizations, private sector entities and communities to enhance conservation efforts and combat wildlife crime.
These would be full-time positions based in Bangladesh. For all positions, working knowledge of English, experience working in and/or managing multi-disciplinary teams, enthusiasm for frequent travel to field sites, knowledge of MS Office applications, and commitment to gender equity and social inclusion are required. Minimum Qualifications Required:
* Minimum bachelor’s degree in a field related to the position(s) of interest required; master’s degree a plus.
* Minimum seven (7) years of relevant professional experience, preferably in Bangladesh.
* Experience on USAID or other donor-funded projects preferred but not required.
* Proven track record of collaborating with a diverse array of stakeholders (including governments, the private sector, local organizations), and integrating social inclusion with women, youth, and other vulnerable populations.
* Professional proficiency (written, oral) in English required.
* Bangladeshi nationals are strongly encouraged to apply.
