Tetra Tech is looking for a Senior Environmental Scientist with more than 15 years of experience in the remediation field serving government clients. Under general supervision, plans, conducts, and supervises tasks such as fieldwork, sampling, and report writing on environmental projects. Performs projects in accordance with RCRA, CERCLA, UST, and other appropriate state and federal regulations. Reviews progress and evaluates results.  Plans and assigns personnel for given projects or tasks. Operates with substantial latitude for unreviewed action or decision.  Performs project management. Prepares, develops, and assists in the preparation of proposals and qualification statements. This position requires the employee to be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on.

Your Role:

 •    Perform and manage technical tasks such as fieldwork, sampling, design, data analysis, and report writing on environmental projects in the public and private sector.  Responsibilities could include managing subcontractors and monitoring project cost and schedule performance.  
•    Participate in functions involving contact with client representative, including virtual and in-person presentations to the client and regulatory agencies.  
•    Assist in and potentially lead efforts in preparing work plans, subcontract specifications, remedial investigation reports, performance monitoring reports, long-term monitoring reports, sampling plans, and cost estimates. 
•    Supervise and coordinate the work of junior and mid-level staff on projects, as appropriate. 
•    Provide technical direction and guidance to CADD/GIS operators, designers, technicians, and field personnel.
•    Assist in and potentially lead proposal preparation efforts. Potential to participate in technical and sales presentations to clients.  

Qualifications:

•    Candidate must have a B.S. degree in Environmental Science or related discipline.
•    Candidate must have more than 15 years of experience of related environmental experience.
•    Direct experience in essential duties listed above, including demonstrated ability in technical writing, is strongly preferred.
•    Direct experience supporting PFAS investigation/remediation projects is strongly preferred.
•    Direct experience with supervision of employees is preferred. 
•    Direct experience managing projects is desirable.
•    Direct experience with NASA is desirable

•    40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and current 8-hour refresher training is required. Other OSHA training is desirable.
•    Experience with engineering, scientific, or general environmental projects and data interpretation is required.
•    Experience should include characterization and remediation of hazardous waste sites. Field experience should include preliminary assessments and site inspections.
