Senior Environmental Program Manager
The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is seeking a dynamic and visionary Senior Environmental Program Manager to join our thriving team based in Pittsburgh, PA. The Senior Environmental Program Manager will play a pivotal “seller-doer” role, leading strategy, business development, and successful capture, and execution of major environmental projects with a focus on commercial clients. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in environmental services, such as site investigation, risk assessment, remediation and/or environmental compliance, as well as in business development building new client relationships and winning exciting new projects. While your position is located in the Pittsburgh, PA office, you’ll have the flexibility to work a hybrid work schedule or fully onsite and with access to Tetra Tech’s regional, national, and international footprint to support your entrepreneurial pursuits.

Responsibilities:
• Drive environmental services business growth by identifying, developing, establishing and expanding new private sector commercial and industrial client accounts.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of high-value opportunities, consistently delivering winning proposals and closing deals.
• Shape and execute growth strategies to expand our client base and deliver a broad suite of integrated consulting services.
• Lead capture and proposal efforts: opportunity qualification, pursuit strategy, teaming, pricing/estimating, staffing plans, technical approach, and proposal writing/review.
• Deliver exceptional technical work while balancing business development efforts and billable project leadership.
• Lead, motivated, and manage project teams to meet or exceed client expectations, achieve projects schedules, maintain budgets, achieve or exceed established profit goals, maintain quality, and uphold the highest standards of quality and safety.
• Provide expert technical guidance to solve complex challenges, ensuring client satisfaction and project excellence.
• Promote client satisfaction and retention through proactive account management and value-added services.
• Mentor and develop junior and mid-level staff, fostering a collaborative environment and shaping the next generation of industry leaders.
• Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, quality assurance/quality control protocols, regulations, and industry standards.
• Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness.
• Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
• Additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Geology is required. Advanced degree (MS, MBA) is preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental consulting with at least 5 years of demonstrated, successful business development and client-account management in the private sector.
• Professional registration, i.e., Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG), is preferred. PMP, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), or similar certifications a plus.
• Proven track record of originating and winning private-sector environmental projects and identifiable existing client relationships.
• Demonstrated experience leading proposals/captures, preparing estimates, and managing project finances.
• Demonstrated educational and relevant work experience showing analytical, written, and verbal communication skills exhibiting a focus on details.
• Ability to travel regionally as needed.
• OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and current 8-hour refresher training are preferred.
This position requires the candidate to be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on.
