Your Role:

Tetra Tech’s Orlando Florida office is seeking a full time, mid-senior level Professional Geologist/Environmental Engineer that is technically competent, motivated, detailed/goal oriented, a team leader and a self-starter. This position will support commercial and municipal environmental permitting, assessment and remediation projects throughout the southeast. Successful candidate(s) will demonstrate a willingness to learn and integrate into an environment that offers team leadership responsibility, client development/management, and professional growth.

  • Serve as team lead and client managers directing preparation of work plans for environmental permitting, assessment and remediation related projects.
  • Develop assessment and remedial solutions for various municipal and commercial sites addressing conventional contaminants (e.g., fuels, chlorinated solvents, and metals) as well as emerging contaminants (PFAS).
  • Prepare key elements of reports, presentations, and environmental permits working with junior and senior staff.
  • Contribute to proposal efforts including detailed work scope and supporting cost estimate preparation.
  • Direct field teams and construction monitoring activities.
  • Mentor junior staff to elevate team skill sets and capabilities.
  • Work safely and abide by Tetra Tech and Client safety guidelines.
  • Ability to travel in, and out of, state is a requirement (e.g., project sites, conferences, other company office locations).
  • Identify and secure new client and service line opportunities.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Science or Geology (or related field).
    • A minimum of 8-15 years of experience.
    • Current OSHA 40 hr. HAZWOPER Certificate.
  • Preferred:
    • Professional Geologist or Professional Engineering license in Florida.
    • Experience with groundwater and soil remediation.
    • Familiar with RCRA and CERCLA process and other appropriate state and federal regulations.
    • Experience with database management, and hydrogeologic modeling programs.
