Legal Reform Expert USAID/Jordan Survivor’s Access to Protection from Domestic Violence Activity (Himaya), Amman, Jordan
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law required; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum 8 years of experience as a practicing attorney, including at least 2 years as a prosecutor in the Jordanian court system
- Experience in legislative drafting and mentoring others through the process
- Demonstrated knowledge of approaches to overcoming barriers for marginalized populations to access to justice and issues impacting survivors of SGBV
- Knowledge of Shari’a law as it relates to divorce and child custody
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care (TIC) as it applies to representing survivors of SGBV/IPV/DV
- Experience with adaptive management approaches preferred
- Arabic fluency and English working proficiency (speaking, reading, and writing) required.
