Project Summary:

The Jordan Public Accountability and Justice Strengthening (PAJ) Activity is designed to strengthen accountability systems, procedures, and mechanisms within the Government of Jordan and judicial institutions and enhance their ability to serve and communicate effectively with the public. It also fosters awareness and pressure by civil society organizations, the public, and the private sector on the government’s adherence to the law and its international commitments to govern in an accountable manner that safeguards the rights of vulnerable populations.

Position Summary:

The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Assistant will report to the Senior MEL Manager. The MEL Assistant will support project-level performance data monitoring to ensure accurate, timely, and effective reporting of all program activities. The MEL Assistant will also support designing data collection systems, analyzing results, and maintaining the project’s database.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and maintain clean data source documents from program staff, ensuring data accuracy and complete backup documentation.
  • Ensure proper and compliant filing and storage of MEL documents, including questionnaires, monitoring reports, datasets, etc.
  • Conduct basic data analysis and interpretation as required for program support and reporting.
  • Keep MEL database up-to-date.
  • Support program staff and prepare periodic high-quality reports such as quarterly and annual reports by providing timely, accurate, and updated data, and assist in the preparation of other project reports as needed.
  • Support MEL team in writing internal evaluation reports (i.e., training evaluations).
  • Assist program staff during survey planning and implementation, including logistics and data collection and cleaning.
  • Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and other associated guidelines.
  • Conduct field visits to events and trainings to support technical staff with e-data collection.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior MEL Manager or Chief of Party.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to monitoring and evaluation (M&E) required.
  • Minimum one year of experience in M&E of international development projects is required, preferably for USAID.
  • Experience developing data collection instruments and collecting data in the Arab region.
  • Good analytical skills using basic software such as Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and teamwork abilities.
  • Advanced professional proficiency in both written and verbal English (ILR 4 or above) required.
