The Opportunity

Australia Awards PNG (AAPNG) supports Papua New Guinea’s development by strengthening education, knowledge transfer, and institutional capacity, while building enduring Australia–PNG relationships. The program delivers high-quality education, fosters institution-to-institution partnerships, and develops the next generation of PNG leaders.

As the Higher Education Partnerships Coordinator, you will support the delivery of institutional strengthening initiatives, including building partnerships between PNG and Australian universities and supporting capacity development for partner tertiary institutions.

Working closely with universities, partners and internal teams, your work will contribute to strengthening higher education systems and supporting sustainable development outcomes across PNG.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate the delivery of higher education partnerships and capacity development activities, including workshops, grants and institutional initiatives
  • Project manage activities, including planning, budgeting, risk management and ensuring delivery against timelines
  • Support the development and management of agreements with institutions, partners and service providers
  • Maintain monitoring, reporting and program data, and contribute to high-quality reporting and program deliverables

 

About You

You’re a proactive and detail-oriented coordinator who enjoys working across partnerships and supporting complex program delivery. You bring a collaborative approach and are comfortable working with a range of stakeholders in a dynamic, cross-cultural environment.

  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience, with demonstrated experience coordinating projects or programs
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and contribute to reporting and program delivery
  • Relationship-focused, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across institutions, partners and cultures

It would be highly regarded if you also have experience working on scholarships or education programs, and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-cultural environments.
