The Opportunity
Australia Awards PNG (AAPNG) supports Papua New Guinea’s development by strengthening education, knowledge transfer, and institutional capacity, while building enduring Australia–PNG relationships. The program delivers high-quality education, fosters institution-to-institution partnerships, and develops the next generation of PNG leaders.
As the Scholarships Coordinator, you will support the end-to-end delivery of Australia Awards Scholarships across the full scholarship lifecycle, from promotion and application through to selection, placement, mobilisation and on-award support.
Working closely with applicants, scholars, institutions and internal teams, your work will directly contribute to positive development outcomes and strong people-to-people links between PNG and Australia.

Key responsibilities
- Coordinate the end-to-end scholarships cycle, including promotion, application, selection and mobilisation activities
- Deliver applicant support and selection processes, including information sessions, eligibility checks, interviews and stakeholder engagement
- Support scholar placement, orientation and ongoing award management, including welfare monitoring and institutional liaison
- Maintain accurate data and reporting (including OASIS), while building strong stakeholder relationships and contributing to continuous improvement and GEDSI outcomes
About You
You’re an organised and proactive coordinator who enjoys working in a dynamic, purpose-driven environment. You bring strong attention to detail, a collaborative approach, and a genuine interest in supporting education and development outcomes. Comfortable managing competing priorities, you take pride in delivering quality work and building positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
You will bring:
- Experience coordinating projects or programs, ideally within an international development or education context
- Experience preparing reports and maintaining accurate data and records, along with strong Microsoft Office 365 skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
It would be highly regarded if you also have experience working on scholarships or education programs, and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-cultural environments.
