Geologist

Required Qualifications:

• BS degree in geology. 
• 0 - 3 years’ experience in the environmental industry or related environmental consulting experience.
• Educational requirements to obtain a GIT/P.G.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and ArcGIS. 
• Previous experience with site investigations, remediation, sampling, and TCEQ regulatory programs.
• Applicants must possess excellent communication (both written and verbal) and organizational skills.
• Applicants must also be highly motivated, customer focused and work well in a team environment.
• Applicants must be able to drive and pass a motor vehicle records check.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with emergency response operations.
• Knowledge of laboratory analytical testing and data validation/interpretation.

Candidate must be able and available to travel via land and/or air and possess a valid driver’s license in good standing. Some heavy lifting required, and the ability to walk and stand for extended periods is essential. Physical tasks include walking over uneven and vegetated terrain, carrying field equipment and coolers (up to 50 pounds), and occasional sampling activities such as hand auguring.

Travel requirements may include day-long projects that do not require overnight stays to multi-day field projects that do require overnight stays.  Field work will be primarily outdoors, exposed to varying weather conditions, can occur in remote locations, could include areas of uneven terrain, and may require wearing FRC clothing.
