Proposal Summary:
MSI is preparing to bid on the USAID/ESC Tertiary Anti-Violence Activity. This activity aims to provide gang-involved youth with tailored interventions that reduce their risks of re-engaging with gangs, strengthen the criminal justice system, pilot secondary and tertiary anti-gang interventions, and incentivize youth against joining gangs and lead them to positive life outcomes.
Position Summary:
MSI is seeking a Youth and Gang Specialist, who will be responsible for developing and implementing intervention strategies to support at-risk youth and reduce gang involvement. This role involves direct engagement with high-risk youth, collaboration with government ministries, police, schools, and community-based organizations, and the creation of programs aimed at prevention and rehabilitation. The position will be based in the Eastern and Southern Caribbean region. Specific countries of focus may include Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago.

Responsibilities:
- Design interventions that prevent violence among youth across all levels (individual, family, peers, community, society)
- Implement these interventions in coordinate with community organizations, schools, law enforcement, and various government ministries.
- Maintain accurate records program outcomes and lessons learned, and prepare reports as required to inform project learning and adaptation.
- Coordinate with the COP, DCOP and MSI Home Office to ensure program compliance with MSI and USAID regulations and requirements.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in youth development, law, international peace and security, education, economics, or public administration or a closely related field.
- Seven (7) years of experience working with at-risk youth, particularly those involved in gang activities.
- Experience with USAID funded projects preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in the areas of positive youth development, crime and violence prevention, anti-gang programming, citizen security, or criminal justice reform required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in high-risk environments, and proficiency in crisis intervention.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
