Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in natural resources, wildlife management, wildlife biology or equivalent degree preferred.
  • Individuals currently seeking degree and/or other enthusiastic workers are encouraged to apply.
  • Must be able to identify eagles and other raptors.
  • Good bird identification skills for species in the region.
  • Prior field experience.
  • Must be able to work independently and with others, and interact positively with project managers, clients, and landowners.
  • Experience with 4x4 vehicles, valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Skilled use of topographic maps, GPS units, and other field equipment.
  • Must be able to follow instructions from manager and collect precise and thorough data.
  • Must be able to work with electronic data collection protocols and data submission timing requirements; and
  • Must be skilled with communication, have the ability to maintain positive attitude and to accept guidance and constructive criticism.
  • Travel time to the field site will be compensated for up to 2 hours roundtrip. Candidates residing within this distance are preferred, but not required. The field study site is located near Flagler, Colorado.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Has ability to perform bending, kneeling, standing, and lifting and carrying objects weighing 35 lbs. and have a tolerance for working in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking or standing on various terrain in a wide range of weather conditions.
  • Performs manual labor including excavation with shovels. 
  • Availability to work extended field rotations (sometimes 10-12 days at a time).

 

Compensation:

Salary commensurate with experience.

Salary Range: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
