Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in an environmental program such as Biology, Ecology, or Environmental Science or related curriculum.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant environmental experience, including field work, is preferred.
  • PWS (Professional Wetland Scientist certification preferred.  
  • Knowledge of CWA Sections 401/404 and associated permitting. 
  • Experience with engaging with federal, state, and local regulators is also a plus.  
  • Experience in wetland and natural resources field activities, technical report writing, and permitting. 
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented work environment.
  • Excellent organization and oral/written communications skills are required.
  • Ability to take clear and accurate field notes by hand or on a tablet/smartphone.
  • Ability to prioritize a variety of assignments in time-critical situations.
  • Ability to analyze available data and draw valid, defensible conclusions. 
  • A willingness to learn and be adaptable.
  • Schedule must have flexibility to travel (land or air), at times on short notice.
  • The successful candidate must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing.
  • Must have a valid driver license and be able to pass the company DMV check to be a Tetra Tech-qualified driver of corporate/rental vehicles.
  • A Pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required.

 

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Has ability to perform bending, kneeling, standing, and lifting and carrying objects weighing 35 lbs. and have a tolerance for working in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking or standing on various terrain in a wide range of weather conditions.
  • Performs manual labor including excavation with shovels.
  • Availability to work extended field rotations (sometimes 10-12 days at a time).
