Wetland and Stream Ecologist - Ann Arbor, MI
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will be split between field and office duties
Field duties will include wetland delineations, habitat assessment, and plant identification
Field duties may require working in all types of weather conditions for extended periods of time, walking long distances, and working odd and/or long hours (including occasional overnight, weekend and out-of-town travel).
Office duties will include reporting and permit preparation.
Requirements:
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or a related discipline
Permitting experience (e.g., Michigan Department of Environmental Protection, watershed management districts, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers).
Knowledge of Michigan flora and fauna including wildlife surveys and listed species permitting.
3-5 years of professional experience in wetland and stream ecology
Valid driver license and experience with driving off road with a 4WD truck
Strong communication skills; effective technical writing and verbal communication abilities
Strong work ethic
Proficiency in GIS or CADD preferred
