The Denver office has an immediate opening for a Water Resources Engineering Project Manager. Our team is growing and in this new position, you will have the opportunity to manage a variety of exciting projects, partnering across market sectors throughout our business.
Your Role
The successful candidate will be responsible as a leader in the Rocky Mountain West providing project planning, design, and construction administration support for dams and reservoirs; civil and green infrastructure; stormwater management; drainage and sediment control; hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, stream restoration, open channels, and flood control projects. A Colorado Professional Engineer registration is required.
Serve as part of the leadership team in the Denver office and West Region including the opportunity to serve as a project technical lead, lead sales efforts and manage water resources projects.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Project Complexity - Manages medium to large engineering projects involving multiple clients or partners
- Client Management- Obtains new / repeat business on medium to large size projects; supports contract negotiations with other client personnel.
- Acts as a Project Manager and/or Technical Lead. Among the responsibilities is the management of a project team. The individuals comprising this team may vary by project.
Qualifications
- BS in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in water resources applications; MS in Water Resources Engineering preferred
- Registration as PE in Colorado is required, or the ability to become registered within 4 months
- Eight or more years of relevant experience
- Construction experience and ability to troubleshoot issues in the field
- Background will ideally include project work and knowledge of grading and drainage (using Civil3D), hydrology and hydraulics, site design, utility design, and other structures. Dam experience is a considerable plus.
- Competency in technical project execution and in writing and pricing scopes of work for proposals
- Familiarity with relevant codes and industry standards. Familiarity with Mile High Flood District design criteria and permitting with the Colorado State Engineer’s Office is a plus.
- Must be able to travel to project sites, both local and remote, work in the field during all seasons and weather conditions
The salary range is approximately from $105,000 to $155,000 depending on education, experience, skills and location.
