Waste Management Coordinator – Los Alamos, NM
Requirements:
- The selected candidate must be able to obtain a security clearance
- 5-8 years of environmental waste management experience required.
- BS in an engineering or environmental science field required.
- Working knowledge of existing DOE waste management software application, preferably WCATS or the IWTS.
- Working knowledge with day-to-day support of information technology solutions for radioactive and hazardous waste management facilities, such as LANL’s Transuranic Waste Facility (TWF) and the LLCC project, application of technical safety requirements (TSRs), RCRA hazardous waste permit requirements.
- Understand and adhere to all Laboratory and industry regulatory guidance and governance specific to the waste management of solid, liquid, hazardous, radioactive, and/or mixed wastes.
- Working knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to the waste management, including EPA, DOT and DOE. Has knowledge and working experience with RCRA regulations along with experience working with hazardous and mixed waste streams.
- Strong communication, writing, and presenting skills including the ability to author and present technical documents, test plans, project documentation, and training to a wide variety of audiences.
- Ability to communicate and interface successfully and professionally with personnel from various organizations.

- The qualified candidate will primarily support Drilling and Well Maintenance or one or more of the following departments: Groundwater Monitoring, Surface Water Monitoring, Storm Water Corrective Actions, and/or Remediation Services.
