Tetra Tech AMT is looking for a Training Engineer (3), Assistant Lead

Primary job duties and responsibilities of the Training Engineer include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist in managing the training program in accordance with business needs, regulatory requirements, and Quality Management Systems.
  • Assist in managing the development of training materials and delivery schedule.
  • Assist in the design and development of multimedia-based instructional materials, online help documentation, instructor-led training guides, and user guides aligned with predefined learning objectives.
  • Assist in developing instructional materials and products for technology-based courses including online, mobile, immersive and performance support.
  • Assist in building and deploying methodologies to evaluate, analyze and report on training effectiveness.
  • Assist with presenting instructional materials to the client.
  • Assist with maintaining organization of instructional materials.
  • Provide reviews of instructional materials and ensure quality and consistency of content throughout the life cycle of a project.
  • Assess training needs and requirements.
  • Create instructor materials (course outlines, background material, instructional materials, and training aids).
  • Continuously enhance technical instructional delivery and presentation skills.
  • Assist in determining overall effectiveness of programs and make improvements.
  • Mentor other instructional design engineers in understanding subject matter, developing content, and course delivery techniques for assigned technical courses.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A BS degree in curriculum or instructional design, educational psychology, or similar.
  • 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Six years of course design experience (4 years with a Master's degree).
  • Three years of experience of technical writing or content development.
  • Experience building and implementing training or education programs from design to implementation, preferably with application of the ADDIE model.
  • Knowledge of the Agile software development framework.
  • Knowledge of modern/e-learning training techniques and tools specifically for technical subjects.
  • The ability to analyze and address training needs with complete courses.
  • Demonstrable experience in designing technical course content.
  • Experience with editing in HTML.
  • Experience with building CSS.
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365  and Sharepoint.
  • Outstanding communication skills and experience with public speaking.
  • A high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • The ability to diagnose and solve problems independently.
  • The ability to contextualize and synthesize complex information for varying target audiences.
  • Certification such as CTT+ (Certified Technical Trainer) is a strong asset
