Job Summary
LS Technologies seeks a highly motivated, energetic, results-oriented Implementation Lead to provide technical and program office support to our Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) customer. The Implementation Lead will own transition and implementation planning for FAA communications, telecom, and facility power systems, serve as the primary technical/programmatic point of contact between FAA program offices, engineering teams, and vendors, and ensure milestone delivery across FAA centers. Applicants MUST possess current FAA contractor credentials/badge and demonstrable FAA experience.

Job Duties & Responsibilities - Essential Job Functions may include, but are not limited to, the following

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead transition and implementation planning, coordination, and tracking for FAA systems and services, including site surveys, installations, cutovers, and disconnects.
  • Serve as the primary communication and coordination lead across FAA Program Offices, Engineering Services, vendors, and stakeholders for all implementation activities.
  • Manage and coordinate outage/cutover activities; produce cutover plans, runbooks, and roll-back procedures; verify service acceptance.
  • Support strategic planning for transitions (e.g., legacy FAA-owned systems and LTE migrations from TDM lines); recommend technical and process solutions.
  • Develop and maintain service flow diagrams, system documentation, configuration drawings, and process-improvement recommendations aligned with system architecture.
  • Host and facilitate project calls, demos, and reviews; prepare briefings, presentations, and communications for FAA leadership and stakeholders.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for facility power configurations and site engineering (Critical/Essential buses, UPS, power conditioning systems); manage permits and work in non-standard environments (asbestos mitigation, high voltage, etc.).
  • Track implementation activities, document lessons learned, and capture business benefits and metrics.
  • Coordinate with FAA Service Support Centers (SSCs), ARTCCs, National Weather Service (NWS), airports, Security Operations Centers (SOCs), and vendors to ensure milestone delivery.
  • Maintain and update FAA databases/tools (CWP, TEMT Ops, Transition tool, site survey modules, etc.) and ensure accurate records for all transition activities.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to communication strategies, operational processes, and stakeholder engagement methods.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Engineering, Math, Science). (Years of relevant job-related experience may be used as a degree waiver.)
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in program/project engineering, systems transition, and implementation—managing communications channels for multiple technical teams and leading complex engagements.
  • Must possess current FAA contractor credentials/badge at time of hire and have prior FAA operational experience. (This is mandatory.)
  • Must possess a current DoD Secret clearance at time of hire. (This is mandatory.)
  • Demonstrated experience working with FAA operational procedures, telecom systems, and facility power configurations (Critical/Essential buses, UPS, Power Conditioning Systems).
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and ability to produce concise, high-quality briefings and deliverables under tight timelines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence and coordinate across multiple stakeholder organizations.
  • Proven ability to analyze business processes, recommend improvements, and manage complex projects across multiple organizations.
  • Experience with FAA tools/databases (CWP, TEMT Ops, Transition tool, site-survey modules) and familiarity with site survey, installation, and service acceptance processes.
  • Ability to obtain personnel suitability for a position of public trust by the Federal Government.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting National Airspace System (NAS) programs (multiple program exposure preferred).
  • Experience coordinating with ARTCCs, SSCs, NWS, airports, and FAA SOC operations.
  • Experience managing permitting and work in non-standard or hazardous site conditions (asbestos mitigation, high-voltage environments).
  • Experience with telecom migrations (e.g., TDM to LTE) and legacy system transitions.

Compensation (Pay Bands)  
Salary at LST is determined by a wide array of factors, such as (but not limited to) education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. 
The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and is based on full-time, 40 hour/week status. Part-time staff receive compensation at an hourly rate. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements) and is just one component of LSTs total compensation package for employees. ** In compliance with local laws, LS Technologies presents this reasonable compensation range as a guideline for roles in California, Colorado, New York, or Washington D.C."
