Qualifications:

* Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in fisheries, biology, marine biology, environmental science, social science, community development or relevant field; a master’s degree is a plus;

* Minimum of 7 years’ experience and proven track record in assisting local governments and/or building organizational capacities of environmental/fisheries management organizations, community-based people’s organizations, and/or NGOs;

* Demonstrated field-based program management experience;

* Knowledge of integrating/mainstreaming gender and climate change into community-based fisheries co-management systems

* Strong network of regional and local government, NGO and civil society within the marine/coastal fisheries sector in focus geography, which may include Kenya, Somalia, the Seychelles, Comoros, South Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania, Mauritius, and Madagascar; and
* Excellent communication skills in English. Foreign language ability a plus.
