Sustainable Energy Finance Senior Advisor-Arlington, VA/Remote (Europe or Africa)
Minimum qualifications
- Master’s degree in economics, finance, engineering, environmental sciences, or business administration.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in sustainable energy and climate finance.
- Knowledge and track record of managing or advising on structuring investment securities, including project/sponsor equity, mezzanine debt, corporate equity, senior debt, tax equity, etc.
- A deep understanding of the electricity supply industry in multiple emerging and developing economies, regulatory approaches, generation, transmission and distribution technologies.
- Strong executive presence with an ability to build trusted relationships with partners, customers, lenders, service providers and investors.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a strong following from junior colleagues.
- Proven ability to navigate multifunctional organizations and transition between diverse functions, from analysis, to strategy, to presentation to project execution.
- Ability to inspire trust, drive success, and navigate difficult changes effectively.
- Entrepreneurial mindset exhibited through resilience, flexibility and comfort with risk.
- Exceptional communications skills, adept at listening, empathizing and effectively communicating with diverse audiences, especially customers and partners.
- High level of self-awareness and humility, with enthusiasm for confronting challenges and uncomfortable situations.
- Commitment to exemplify and promote our values, motivating others by example.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Valued qualifications
- Experience working at a multilateral development bank, investment bank, an investment fund or an advisory firm.
- Oral and written communication skills in French, Spanish, Ukrainian, Russian, Arabic or Swahili
Physical demands & work environment
- Occasional travel internationally to project locations and conferences.
