The Opportunity:

Tetra Tech is adding an Entry Level Structural Engineer to our Global Services Design Team based in our Marlborough, Massachusetts Office

Tetra Tech's Global Services Design Team delivers comprehensive architecture and engineering solutions for the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, and allied foreign governments. Our team supports facility and utility planning, design, and construction services worldwide, including remote and challenging locations. From buildings and utilities to airfields and waterfront facilities, we cover the full spectrum of military installation projects.

We also contribute to international development projects through feasibility studies, design, retrofitting, and construction of essential infrastructure—such as housing, roads, energy solutions, healthcare, education, water and wastewater systems, and disaster relief efforts.

Your Role:

  • Perform Structural Calculations: Carry out detailed structural analysis and design calculations to ensure project integrity
  • Prepare Construction Documents: Create accurate and high-quality construction drawings using industry-standard software such as Revit and AutoCAD
  • Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work closely with architecture, mechanical, electrical, and civil teams to ensure seamless coordination throughout the design process
  • Review and Annotate: Assist in reviewing construction documents, mark-ups, and incorporate feedback to produce final drawings ready for project execution
  • Develop Technical Specifications: Contribute to writing technical specifications and design narratives that support project goals
  • Engage in Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry advancements, enhancing your expertise in structural design and analysis
  • Ensure Safety Standards: Always prioritize safety in your work, following best practices and promptly reporting any health and safety concerns.

Qualifications

We are seeking motivated individuals who are passionate about structural engineering and thrive in collaborative environments. Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited college or university in Civil Engineering (or equivalent), with a focus on structural engineering coursework
  • Experience: 0–2 years of relevant experience in structural engineering or design. New graduates with strong academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply
  • Certifications: EIT (Engineer in Training) certification is preferred, or a demonstrated commitment to obtaining it
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with CAD software like Revit and AutoCAD, and structural analysis tools such as SAP2000, Bentley RAM, STAAD, or SAFE is required; proficiency is a plus
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to participate in short-term international travel assignments as needed
  • Team Support: Interest in assisting civil and cost-estimating teams on multidisciplinary projects a plus
  • Time Management: Proven ability to meet project deadlines while adhering to quality standards
  • Software Proficiency: Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is required
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with an emphasis on teamwork and client collaboration
  • Additional Requirements: U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residence is required for this role, as is the ability to pass background checks (including criminal and credit history). 

Additional Information:

You may be required drive on an occasional basis for business purposes, to do this, you will need a valid driver’s license, pass a motor vehicle record (MVR) background check, and maintain a safe driving record.

The salary range for this position is $67,000 to $73,000.
