Structural BIM Designer
Tetra Tech is adding a Structural BIM Designer to our team. This position may be based in Louisville, Portland, Ann Arbor, Irvine, or Orlando.

Your Role:
The successful candidate must be able to use Building Information Modeling software, provide engineering drafting/design support for structural work on Municipal, Industrial, and Commercial projects.
- Work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to set up and manage construction drawings
- Prepare dimensional drawings from 3D building models
- Revise and update existing drawings to reflect design changes
- Create and manage electronic document file structure, naming conventions in accordance with company standards
- Work a typical set of project documents from beginning to end with professional quality output
- Work on multiple projects at the same time to successful completion
- Follow CAD/BIM standards, whether the customer’s or Tetra Tech’s
- Work with project teams on drawings which meet and exceed the customer’s requirements (bid and submittal phase).
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree of completion in CAD drafting or related field from a technical trade school, plus at least five years of related work experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Experience using either Autodesk Revit for structural drawing and following client standards. For Autodesk Revit experience, knowledge linking files, setting up plan views, using view templates, and worksets is preferred.
- Proficient in Autodesk Revit
- Knowledge using Autodesk AutoCAD is a plus
- Excellent communications skills: Interpersonal, listening, oral and written
- Skilled in PC usage and associated software including Microsoft Office
- Able to generate layout drawings from sketches and specifications or minimal direction from Engineers
- Familiar with design parameters related to structural work for buildings.
- Knowledgeable of standard drafting practices and procedures
- Able to work with minimal supervision, exercise independent judgment
- Able to efficiently schedule and manage time
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member
- Must be able to achieve generally stated objectives and requirements
