Stormwater Engineer

We are currently seeking a Stormwater Engineer with municipal stormwater engineering and green infrastructure design expertise for our Irvine, CA office.
We are in search of a new team member to join our family of engineers and scientists to support municipal, state, federal, and private clients in Southern California and throughout the nation. This is an engaging and high impact position in which you will operate as a technical lead working closely with national industry leaders to develop and support clients with stormwater management and design, green infrastructure (GI), low impact development (LID), hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analysis, water quantity and water quality analysis, and watershed management projects. In this position you will lead stormwater infrastructure project design development and ensuring key deadlines are met. In this role you must possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills — which will allow you to engage in a portfolio of diverse projects and successfully work with people at all levels.
Your Role:
- Plan, design, prioritize, and provide project management expertise for stormwater management projects focused stormwater quality, GI, and LID.
- Complete the preparation of feasibility studies, design plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical documents and contracts.
- Perform design analyses through application of quantitative and qualitative evaluation techniques and effectively link engineering and modeling to regulatory requirements.
- Prepare construction drawings, details, specifications, calculations, and engineers estimate of probable construction costs.
- Perform site visits during all phases of stormwater infrastructure projects.
- Participate in strategic marketing discussions and proposal development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in civil or environmental engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years progressive experience in conducting feasibility studies, full design, and hydraulic analysis of stormwater/water resources projects for municipalities and other entities in Southern CA
- Registered PE in California (preferred).
- Proficiency in CAD programs. Knowledge of ArcMap is useful.
- Experience working with MS4 jurisdictions in CA and extensive LID and GI design experience.
- Envision Sustainability Professional and Qualified SWPPP Developer certifications, desired.
- Recent experience with the design of sustainable GI, including subsurface storage and infiltration, bioretention basins, bioswales, green streets, and constructed wetlands.
- Working knowledge of water quality regulations and the Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) program.
- Strong project management skills with ability to manage tasks for technically complex projects on time and budget.
- Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of safe work practices and the ability to train employees on corporate safety guidelines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
The salary range for this position is approximately $85,000 to $110,000 depending on education, qualifications, experience and work location.
