Your Role:

Our Atlanta area office provides technical expertise in environmental consulting, engineering, regulatory compliance, sustainability, resiliency, investigation/remediation, community involvement and brownfields support to critically impacted properties throughout the Southeast.  For over 25 years, our team of scientists, engineers, GIS analysts, and other specialists have supported the U.S. EPA's Superfund Technical Assessment and Response Team program across the country. Our staff are involved with work that helps protect human health and the environment. We are looking for a candidate with minimum of a bachelor's degree in environmental science, physical sciences (e.g. physics, chemistry, geology, meteorology), ecology, sustainability applied science in sustainability, life sciences, engineering or other acceptable science or natural resource related field.  

Highlighted Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical assistance in support of site investigations, site remediation, field sampling, community involvement, brownfield, preparedness, removal actions, hazardous waste, and air monitoring/quality
  • Participates in field events that include multimedia sampling and field data collection, interpret results, and prepare or direct the preparation of reports and other deliverables
  • Works well in a team environment as well as independently
  • Requires periodic travel to support environmental field activities throughout the south-central U.S.
  • Technical writing in support of environmental response, investigation, cleanup, and compliance activities utilizing MS Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will/have:

  • Writing skills and ability to interpret and present field data in technical reports
  • Proficient knowledge with Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to prioritize multiple activities as well as organize, coordinate and analyze technical material
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver's license prior to employment
  • Must be able to walk over rough and uneven terrain on occasion
  • Education or experience in environmental consulting, environmental compliance, community involvement, or related experience is desirable

Activities may include the following:

  • Data management (compilation, manipulation, and evaluation of data)
  • Assisting with writing and preparing technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda
  • Conducting project related research (historical data, regulations, etc.)
  • Preparing periodic status/program reports
  • Soil, groundwater, and air sampling in compliance with State and Federal standards
  • Subcontractor oversight

Education and Certifications:

B.A/B.S. in environmental science, physical sciences (e.g. physics, chemistry, geology, meteorology), ecology, sustainability or applied science in sustainability, life sciences, engineering or other acceptable science or natural resource related field preferred

Physical Demands:

Work may involve dealing with inclement weather conditions and some lifting (up to 25 lbs).

Work Environment:

Work may include hazardous site conditions for which HAZWOPER and other training is required.

Requires periodic travel to support environmental field activities throughout the south-central U.S.
