Tetra Tech is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager and Business Development Leader with experience in planning, design and construction administration of infrastructure projects including drinking water, wastewater and stormwater.  This position is an ideal opportunity for a team-oriented, well-credentialed professional looking to contribute technical expertise and business acumen, build and lead a strong team, provide superior client services, and help grow our firm’s New York City infrastructure operation.  It is expected that this candidate would develop and strengthen existing local client relationships and local regulatory knowledge.

  • Leadership in a Team-Oriented Environment:  The successful candidate will be responsible for driving growth in the New York City Metropolitan area by assisting the Regional Leader in setting annual and long-term goals in support of growth.
  • Project Management, Technical Leadership and Staff Development:  Serve as a technical expert/advisor on complex projects and provide Senior Project Management or Quality Control function for high profile projects including leading meetings with clients.
  • Client and Key Teaming Partner Development:  Support Regional Leader with the pursuit of new clients, bringing new services to existing clients, and forming thoughtful and strategic consultant and contractor teaming relationships for key pursuits in the New York City Metropolitan area.
  • Experience with agency coordination, leading technical teams and contractors providing technical deliverable.
  • Ability and experience to support the permitting of complex projects in a dynamic work environment, have strong critical thinking capabilities, and have a flexible approach to problem solving.
  • Team-oriented professional with a strong attention to detail, and a proven commitment to quality management and client satisfaction.
  • Planning of client business development activity in the NYC and local metropolitan area of New York.
  • Business development vision for the local team including capture planning.
  • Strategy development of business in the region.
  • Leadership on all technical proposals for the region.
  • Budgetary oversight and development in support of goals and growth for the office and local region.
  • Serving as a seller-doer to increase our market share with current and new clients in the metropolitan area.
  • Lead project teams in good practices, planning, design and construction. 
  • Experience with agency coordination, leading technical teams and contractors providing technical deliverables.
  • Ability and experience to support the permitting of complex projects in a dynamic work environment, have strong critical thinking capabilities, and have a flexible approach to problem solving.
  • Team-oriented professional with a strong attention to detail, and a proven commitment to quality management and client satisfaction.
  • Participate in key project pursuit strategy meetings, and proposal and presentation efforts.
  • New York Professional Engineer (PE) License. 
  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, MS preferred.  
  • 15+ years of experience required in municipal infrastructure discipline with progressive experience in the evaluation, design, permitting and construction administration of water, wastewater and stormwater systems.  
  • Established state and local client relationships for the New York City Metropolitan region. 
  • Ownership of an existing client base that executes water, wastewater, stormwater and other associated utility-related assignments. 
  • Self-directed and motivated with a minimum of 5 years management/leadership experience in a high-growth environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people in multiple locations.
