Software Controls Engineer
Requirements:
- Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with PLC based control systems
- Proficient in automation software including PLC, HMI and DCS applications
- Knowledge of several of the following languages: C/ C++, Python, Java etc.
- Understanding of electronics and basic electrical requirements
- Knowledge of process control and instrumentation
- Experience with troubleshooting of computer hardware and its peripherals
- Working knowledge of electrical codes and industry standards (ISA, API, NFPA, CSA) is considered an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work under and meet tight deadlines.
- Takes initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the team.
- Eager to learn with strong listening, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Working experience in a consulting environment will be considered an asset
