The program
The Mekong-Australia Partnership Phase 2 Support Unit (MAP SU), funded by the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), aims to provide efficient and effective support and enabling services, and delivery of selected MAP activities as directed by the Mekong Hub at the Australian Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand to ensure that Australia is a trusted and visible partner in supporting a resilient, inclusive and sustainable Mekong subregion. MAP SU delivers the Leadership and Skills program and enabling services for the Transnational Crime (MAP-TNC) program. It also supports programming by providing administrative, logistical and/or technical support and assistance in the execution of parts of MAP such as organising events, conducting training or managing specific components.

The role coordinates closely with DFAT, delivery partners, alumni and internal MAP SU teams (MEL, communications, inclusion and operations), supervises program staff, and strengthens partners’ capacity to deliver effective learning activities.

- Supervise and coach the Program Coordinator and Short Course Specialist; coordinate workload and quality assurance for learning materials and event outputs.
- Coordinate with the Leadership and Skills Team Leader on financial planning and management for short courses (forecasts, expenditure monitoring and addressing underspends).
- Work with MEL colleagues to design and implement participant feedback, post‑event evaluations, success‑story collection and reporting that support adaptive program management.
- Produce and contribute to MEL outputs and post‑event briefs (summary reports, learning notes, recommendations) for DFAT, partners and internal use.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with DFAT (Mekong Hub and Posts), implementing partners, education providers, alumni networks and regional stakeholders to support program delivery and sustainability.
- Lead proactive risk identification and management for events and learning activities in consultation with the Team Leader and relevant MAP SU leads.
- Ensure all activities meet DFAT and Tetra Tech standards for safeguarding, child protection, PSEAH, fraud prevention and Work Health & Safety.
- Integrate Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) principles into the design and delivery of all learning activities to maximise accessibility and impact.
- Represent the MAP SU and Leadership & Skills program at external meetings, events and masterclasses as required.
