The program
Australia Awards Indonesia (AAI) is managed by Tetra Tech on behalf of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Australia Awards is an integral part of Australia's development cooperation program with Indonesia and has enjoyed strong support from both governments for more than sixty years. Australia Awards addresses two key challenges: to fill a gap in the pool of individuals with the higher-level capacity to contribute to Indonesia's development; and the need for a strong deep relationship based on mutual understanding between Australia and Indonesia.
The role
The Short Course Finance Coordinator manages financial administration for Australia Awards Indonesia’s short‑course portfolio, ensuring accurate budgeting, forecasting, payments, reconciliations and monthly reporting. Reporting to the Short Course Senior Manager, the role enforces DFAT and contractual compliance, supports procurement and timely provider payments, and maintains audit‑ready financial records and participant databases. The role will provide financial analysis to improve value, coordinate with Finance, Travel and Admin teams, and lead system improvements gaining donor‑funded program experience while contributing directly to Australia–Indonesia capacity building outcomes.
Key responsibilities
· Manage short course finance: budgets, forecasts, reporting and reconciliations
· Ensure DFAT/contract compliance and value‑for‑money
· Process payments and contracts for providers and participants
· Maintain financial databases and audit‑ready records
· Provide financial analysis and coordinate with Finance/Travel/Admin
· Tertiary finance/accounting qualification; strong controls, accuracy and communication
Selection criteria
· Tertiary qualification in finance, accounting or related field
· Professional certification (CPA/ACCA) or formal financial management training advantageous
· Proven experience in financial administration, budgeting, payments and reconciliations
· Experience with procurement, contract payments and compliance in program/donor contexts
· Proficient with financial systems, record‑keeping and audit documentation
· Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to explain finance to non‑finance staff
