Qualifications:

  • Completion of secondary school, or equivalent certification, is required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in customs and shipping is required.
  • A firm understanding of the Department's regulations and policies governing official shipments required.
  • Knowledge of the Government of Iraq customs and transportation requirements is required.
  • Familiarity with general office procedures required.
  • Familiarity with local shipping and forwarding companies and have a general knowledge of insurance procedures required.
  • Ability to function independently and professionally, prioritize assignments, and have strong organization and customer service skills required.
  • Intermediate computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills to be able to interact effectively with government officials, vendors, and customers of all ranks required.
  • A valid driving license from home of record required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel in conflict zones.
  • Level 3/3 in English is required.
  • Level 2/2 in Arabic is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the following security vetting based on nationality: 1) US Citizen personnel: MRPT determination issued by the Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS/SI/PSS) prior to contract performance 2) Third Country National (TCN) personnel: Vetting Approval by host country Regional Security Officer (RSO) in accordance with local standards and Overseas Vetting Guidelines (OVG) prior to contract performance.
