Purpose & Scope of the Role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering robust cost management across the full project lifecycle. Working within a highly collaborative consultancy environment, you will lead on cost planning, procurement, and financial control, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and in line with client expectations. You will operate across a diverse portfolio of construction projects, leveraging established processes while contributing to continuous improvement and innovation.
Your Impact in this Position
You will influence key financial decisions from project inception through to completion, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and value at every stage. By partnering with multidisciplinary teams and clients, you will drive cost certainty, manage risk, and support the successful delivery of technically complex projects across Ireland.
Core Capabilities
Cost Planning & Control: Lead detailed cost planning, forecasting, and reporting. Maintain rigorous financial oversight throughout project delivery
Procurement & Contract Management: Manage tendering processes and contract administration. Ensure compliance with construction law and contract conditions
Commercial Management: Drive value engineering and cost optimisation strategies. Monitor project performance and mitigate commercial risks
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with clients, contractors, and project teams. Communicate complex financial data clearly and effectively
Technical & Analytical Expertise: Apply strong analytical skills to support decision-making. Utilise cost management tools and industry best practices
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, you bring at least five years’ post-qualification experience within the Irish construction sector. You are a member, or working towards membership, of a recognised professional body such as SCSI or RICS. You have a proven track record across cost planning, procurement, and contract administration, supported by strong commercial awareness and communication skills. Experience with cost management software and knowledge of sustainability practices or ICMS reporting would be advantageous.
Working Environment
This is a full-time role based in Cork, Dublin, or Waterford, and is majority office-based to support collaboration, alongside some flexibility to manage your schedule.
