Senior Preparedness Project Manager
Education:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college required, Master's degree preferred.
Preferred Certifications:
- Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute or
- Certification as a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) from the International Association of Emergency Managers
- Certified Business Continuity Planner
Experience:
- 10+ years progressive project/program management experience.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams of emergency management practitioners in the development of solutions to complex emergency management and public safety challenges.
Skills:
- Knowledge of and experience in applying the concepts, theories, principles and practices of emergency management, hazard mitigation, urban planning, and/or economic recovery
- Proven business development skills; the ability to identify and assess new opportunities in a variety of service lines and develop consistent, focused opportunity assessments.
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships with a variety of public and private sector executives.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction.
- Demonstrated ability to establish priorities to complete work in a timely manner, despite changes in workload or assignment, pressure of deadlines, or competing priorities.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to make project management decisions based on quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Skilled at anticipating future consequences and trends accurately while creating competitive and breakthrough strategy plans.
- Understanding of how to develop a strategic and / or business plan. Working with a team, document that plan and translate it into actionable objectives.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Works well within a team structure.
- Excellent project management, problem solving, communication, and organizational skills. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
