About the Role:

Based in Christchurch or Wellington, you will play a key role within our well-established geotechnical team, supporting clients across a diverse range of projects and sectors. Our reputation has been built on providing practical, robust, and commercially focused geotechnical advice that helps clients make confident decisions throughout the project lifecycle.


As our business continues to grow, you will provide technical leadership on complex geotechnical challenges, including ground investigations, foundation solutions, slope stability assessments, earthworks, retaining structures, and infrastructure resilience. You will work closely with clients, project partners, and multidisciplinary teams to identify risks, unlock opportunities, and deliver solutions that create long-term value.


Beyond technical delivery, you will help strengthen our position as trusted advisors by fostering strong client relationships, supporting business development initiatives, and mentoring emerging engineers. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining the high technical standards and quality outcomes that define our practice.


Our projects span land development, buildings, transport infrastructure, renewable energy, water, and civil infrastructure, providing a breadth of opportunities to apply your expertise and widen your skillset.
 

About You:

You are an experienced geotechnical engineer who combines strong technical capability with a client-focused advisory mindset. You enjoy working with clients to understand their challenges, providing clear and practical advice and deliver outcomes that make a real difference.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in geotechnical engineering or a related discipline, with Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or working towards chartership.
  • A strong track record in delivering innovative, safe, and cost-effective geotechnical solutions across land development, buildings, civil, transport, and infrastructure sectors.
  • Sound technical knowledge in areas such as slope stability, foundation design, retaining systems, ground improvement, and ground investigations.
  • A solid understanding of New Zealand’s geotechnical risks, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and engage with clients and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • A genuine passion for mentoring and developing emerging talent.
  • A proactive approach to building and nurturing long-term client relationships.
  • A collaborative spirit and commitment to sharing knowledge and driving continuous improvement.
