Senior Geotechnical Engineer - Calgary

Qualifications

•    Minimum of an Undergraduate degree in Geotechnical, Geological or Civil Engineering
•    Preference will be given to candidates that have obtained a Graduate Degree or Ph.D. in the area of Geotechnical Engineering
•    A minimum of 15 years experience in a geotechnical engineering capacity in Western Canada
•    Experience in a consulting engineering environment would be considered an asset
•    Extensive experience establishing and maintaining client relationships 
•    Experience writing internal and external reports and proposals
•    Strong people skills and an ability to work in a team environment
•    Previous experience leading, mentoring, and coaching team members 
•    Previous experience using GeoStudio Products (SLOPE/W, etc.) and MS Office is essential
•    Experience modeling geotechnical projects using finite element software (PLAXIS, etc), LPILE, WEAP, etc. a definite asset
•    Extensive experience planning and supervising geotechnical investigations and in writing/reviewing reports and technical communications
•    Excellent communication skills (both oral and written), teamwork and mentorship skills are essential
•    Good time management skills, the ability to work with minimal supervision and the ability to contribute to the project by being a team player
•    Travel will be required in this position, and candidates must be prepared to undertake field assignments, generally within western Canada 
•    Must be physically capable of performing the manual field duties required
•    Must be or eligible to register as a professional engineer in Alberta, be legally entitled to work in Canada, and possess a valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license (or equivalent)
