Senior Environmental Consultant
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field (required; advanced degree preferred).
• Minimum of 20 years of experience in environmental consulting, toxicology, or related disciplines.
• Professional certifications in environmental compliance, auditing, or toxicology (preferred).
• Demonstrated experience working with Department of Defense (DoD) clients, including Navy, Air Force, Army, or Coast Guard projects.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage technical staff, senior leaders, and community stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with environmental or compliance software is a plus.
• Willingness and ability to travel occasionally, approximately 10–15%.
This position requires the candidate to be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on.
Physical Demands: Must be able to perform standard office duties including extended use of a computer, attend meetings, and participate in occasional site visits. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Work Environment: Primarily remote or office-based consulting with occasional travel to client sites, team meetings, and professional forums. Travel may include domestic locations with variable site and environmental conditions.
Language & Communication Skills:
• Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Strong report writing and technical communication skills.
• Ability to present technical material clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Other Skills:
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance frameworks.
• Ability to work independently in a consulting capacity while contributing effectively as part of a team.
• Mathematical skills for data analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Windows.
• Specific software proficiency required and/or preferred: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint (required); familiarity with environmental compliance or data management software is a plus.
