The Opportunity:

LDIS LLC, a Tetra Tech Company, provides integrated engineering and design solutions for the Energy, Petrochem, Renewables, Water Treatment and Life Sciences markets. In addition to conventional facility solutions and designs, our projects include Hydrogen Electrolysis, Ammonia Production Facilities, Renewable Natural Gas Processing, Emissions Reduction Studies, Carbon Capture and Sequestration, Wastewater, Pharmaceuticals, and much more.

Your Role:

Electrical Engineers are responsible for supporting design and implementation of electrical systems, and working with software, and various other tools. As an Electrical Engineer IV, your primary focus on developing robust power distribution systems within an overall project team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical discipline teams on projects with minimal guidance; supervise and mentor engineers, designers, and drafters.
    Serve as Lead Engineer or technical expert on medium to large projects, managing engineering scope, schedule, and budget.
    Perform electrical engineering design, analysis, and reviews; support development of standards, specifications, and quality control procedures.
  • Execute power engineering calculations and designs for processing and heavy industrial facilities.
  • Develop specifications and evaluate equipment including switchgear, MCCs, panels, motor starters, and VFDs.
  • Produce and review one-line diagrams, panel schedules, cable and conduit layouts, wire sizing, and CAD drawings.
  • Review vendor submittals, develop wiring diagrams, and resolve technical issues.
  • Conduct site visits to observe construction and operations; travel as required.
  • Apply company and client technical standards while collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Plan and communicate technical information clearly and professionally.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related ABET-accredited discipline.
  • 10–15 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) required; Professional Engineer (PE) preferred (multi-state a plus).
    NCEES registration.
  • Coursework or demonstrated experience in power engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, hazardous location requirements, and electrical safety practices.
  • Proficiency in power system analysis including short-circuit, load flow, voltage drop, arc-flash, grounding, protective device coordination, motor starting, and harmonics studies.
  • Experience with medium voltage systems (e.g., 4.16 kV).
  • Ability to develop and interpret one-line diagrams, schematics, and electrical calculations.
  • Solid understanding of engineering scope, schedule, and budget management.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
  • Substation experience (preferred).
  • Lighting photometrics
  • UPS and DC power systems

Target Salary Range: $124,000 to $156,000. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business

Physical Requirements:

  • Constantly required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms
  • Constantly use hands to keyboard or type, handle materials, or manipulate objects
  • Light work that includes lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds and, occasionally, up to 50 pounds  
  • Frequently moving about to accomplish tasks.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this classification include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing abilities required by this classification includes those which permit the employee to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
  • Requires composure and ability to prioritize and handle several urgent tasks and requests simultaneously with a high level of competence and accuracy
  • Occasionally climbing stairs and ladders to read meters at active oil & gas sites.

Work Environment / Environmental Factors:

Environmental factors mostly consist of work being conducted in an indoor office environment, but is not limited to extreme temperatures (e.g., cold, heat), fumes, variable weather conditions, outdoor work, and noise due to some travel & work on worksites.
