Senior Communications and Knowledge Management Officer, USAID/Increased Demand and Engagement for Accountability (IDEA) Activity

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Law, Communications, Journalism, Mass Communication, Social Sciences, or a related area is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum three years of professional experience as communications officer in an NGO or a copy editor, journalist, communications specialist, or other similar experience is required.
• Experience working on international development programs in Sri Lanka, particularly with UN/INGOs or any development partner, and in-depth knowledge of country context and development issues required.
• Experience in producing multi-media information products for a variety of target audiences under tight timeframes is required.
• Experience using current software packages for data visualization, infographics, presentations, and use of social media platforms for communications is recommended.
• Ability to demonstrate attention to detail when working on human interest stories.
• Ability to travel is recommended.
• Conversant in MS Office applications is required.
• Fluency in English and one national language (Sinhala/Tamil) required; proficiency in a second national language recommended.
