Senior Civil Engineer / Project Manager
The Opportunity:
Come join our Mountain Team as a Senior Civil Engineer, Project Manager – Land Development (Hybrid) based in Frisco, CO. In this role, you will lead and contribute to land development and site design projects that shape sustainable communities throughout the region.
Position Summary:
The Land Development/Site Design Project Manager will lead and support civil engineering design and project management activities for a variety of municipal, commercial, and private development projects. The position will focus on delivering high-quality solutions that meet client needs and align with Tetra Tech’s standards for safety, quality, and sustainability.
Essential Job Functions:

⦁ Lead civil engineering analysis, design, and management of land development and site design projects.
⦁ Strong technical expertise to work on multiple projects: grading, hydraulic design, storm drainage, water and sewer system design, and erosion control analyses.
⦁ Collaborate directly with clients, project design teams, and technical staff to deliver innovative and compliant solutions.
⦁ Prepare detailed engineering reports, construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
⦁ Evaluate alternatives, resolve technical issues, and ensure adherence to engineering standards and documentation requirements.
⦁ Support construction activities including submittal and RFI review, and field coordination.
⦁ Collaborate with senior managers in business development efforts to grow the practice in the region: proposal preparation, cost estimation, and project financial monitoring.
⦁ Solid team leadership skills to develop and mentor staff.
⦁ Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
⦁ Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
⦁ Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
⦁ Professional Engineer (PE) license in Colorado is required.
⦁ Knowledge of AASHTO Greenbook, CDOT, and local municipal standards.
⦁ Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
⦁ Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
⦁ Experience with grading, drainage, hydrology/hydraulics, and street design.
Preferred Qualifications:
⦁ Experience managing municipal, commercial, or residential infrastructure projects.
⦁ Familiarity with permitting and regulatory processes.
⦁ Experience designing roadways, bikeways, erosion control, water quality, and sewer systems.
Physical Requirements:
⦁ Ability to perform fieldwork in varying conditions and on uneven terrain.
⦁ Ability to walk, stand, and perform light to moderate physical activity, including occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
⦁ Frequent use of engineering and field equipment.
Work Environment / Environmental Factors:
⦁ Combination of office and outdoor field settings with exposure to variable weather conditions.
⦁ Moderate noise levels and occasional work on uneven terrain.
⦁ Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Additional Information:
⦁ Employment Type: Full-time, Hybrid (Frisco, CO)
⦁ Work Schedule: Standard business hours, with occasional field visits or travel as required.
⦁ Travel Requirements: Occasional travel for project or client meetings.
⦁ Compensation Range: $170,000 – $190,000, depending on experience.
