 Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, civil engineering technology, environmental engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
•    A minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in land development, water resources, and/or utility design projects. Less may be considered with an advanced degree.
•    Willingness and ability to travel as needed, approximately 25%.
•    Current registration as South Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) is required. Ability to obtain additional target states within 3-months (GA, NC, VA).
•    Current certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) is desired.
•    Current certification as a Certified Floodplain Manger (CFM) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) is desired.
 

This position requires the candidate to be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on.
 

If this position requires a CAC card, CUI Enclave Access and/or a Security Clearance, a background check will be completed.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The physical demands of this position are limited to office work and some fieldwork.  Field work may include walking over uneven or rough terrain, some lifting, and safely managing exposure to a range of temperatures and possible wet weather.  Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided to safely work in the field.  

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  The noise level is usually moderate in the primary work environment i.e., a typical business office with computers, printers, and light pedestrian traffic. When performing field work, the employee may be near moving equipment and/or machinery and may be subject to a range of weather conditions in those areas. Occasionally, work assignments will require the employee to travel via vehicle or air.

•    Must be fluent in the English language – writing, reading, and speaking.
•    Must have a high level of written and oral communication skills and the ability to work and collaborate with employees at all levels and disciplines.  
•    Successful candidate must possess effective communication skills, both orally and in written form. 
•    Ability to effectively present information, communicate, and respond to questions.  
•    Ability to read, research, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical documents and procedures, and government regulations.  

Other Skills: Instructions: 
The candidate must have the ability to work well in a professional and team-oriented environment, as well as independently. Candidate should possess strong organizational skills, excellent leadership skills, and be client focused. Must possess basic computer skills; the computer skills must include proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel. Must be proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D. Advanced proficiency in 1D/2D hydrologic an hydraulic modeling is desired. ESRI GIS experience is a plus.

Candidate must have the ability to work well in a professional and team-oriented environment, as well as independently. Candidate should possess strong organizational skills, excellent leadership skills, and be client focused.
