Tetra Tech’s commitment to hiring the best talent in the industry and helping them thrive professionally is stronger than ever. Tetra Tech is seeking a Senior Chemist for our Parsippany, NJ location.

Responsibilities:

·         Providing chemistry-related technical support for a wide range of projects including field investigations and remediation programs.

·         Developing investigation approaches and project, data, and measurement quality objectives (i.e., PQOs, DQOs, MQOs).

·         Preparing project plans (specifically UFP-QAPPs, conceptual site models [CSMs]) for HTRW Sites.

·         Munition Response (MMRP) Site experience a plus.

·         Overseeing collection/management of samples from variety of media, including training personnel on sample collection, labeling, packaging, and shipping techniques and preparation of labels/chains of custody.

·         Coordinating with laboratory and data validation subcontractors.

·         Managing analytical laboratory data, including tabulation of results and submission to regulatory agencies (EPA SEDD, NJDEP Hazsite, NYSDEC EQuIS).

·         Performing data review, including development of data quality indicators (DQIs) and eQAPPs, use of electronic data validation programs, and assessment of usability.

·         Conducting data analysis evaluations, including multi-year trending analyses (e.g., Mann-Kendall, MAROS, ProUCL, GWSDAT).

·         Determining nature and extent of contamination with respect to regulatory criteria.

·         Evaluating fate and transport of HTRW chemical constituents.

·         Working efficiently on project teams.

·         Tracking/meeting contractual and regulatory deadlines.

Requirements:

·         BS in Chemistry or other environmental science-related field.

·         5 to 10 years of experience in site investigations, chemical analysis, environmental fate and transport analysis, and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC).

·         Ability to work on multiple projects of various size and scope.

·         Ability to work independently and as a member of a project team.

·         Good communication and documentation skills.

·         Willingness for occasional overnight travel.

·         Must be able to obtain medical clearance for field work at hazardous waste sites including lifting up to 40 lbs. and working for extended periods of time in the field, under hot or cold, humid, and wet conditions.

·         A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.

·         Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
