Senior CAD Technician
Qualifications:

• Able to create surfaces, profiles, pipe networks, and corridors.
• Able to train junior staff in Civil 3D features.
• Ability to lead production staff to complete deliverables on time.
• Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.
• Effective time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Ensure collection of completed documentation including contract submittals, QA/QC records, as-built information, as well as the issuance of inspection completion certificates.
Education & Experience:
• High School Diploma
• 10- to 15 years of experience in project management of construction and pipeline projects, and preparing construction documents for land development projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred.
• Able to create surfaces, profiles, pipe networks, and corridors.
• Able to train junior staff in Civil 3D features. Ability to lead production staff to complete deliverables on time.
• Project/Task management experience.
• Experience in monitoring maintenance budgets
• Experience developing CIP project budgets.
• Experience with asset management
• Experience with pipeline system condition assessment and rehabilitation

Field work may include traversing over uneven or rough terrain, some lifting, and safely managing exposure to a range of temperatures and possible wet weather. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided to safely work in the field.

The Hampton Roads Office is a vital, growing office, destined to be a hub of engineering and environmental services for Tetra Tech. This position is ideal for a motivated individual to grow as the office grows. Some travel and field work may be required.
Language & Communication Skills:
Effective oral and written communication is essential to this position. Must be fluent in the English language, both in speaking and writing. Report and proposal writing for a range of projects is required.
Mathematical Skills:
• Basic Math
• Algebra (preferred)
Other Skills:
Candidate must have the ability to work well in a professional and team-oriented environment, as well as independently. A candidate should possess strong organizational skills, excellent leadership skills, and be client focused. Must possess basic computer skills; the computer skills must include proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel. Must be advanced and proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D software. GIS experience is a plus.
