Tetra Tech is adding a Senior Accountant to our team based in Pasadena, CA. The Senior Accountant on our Corporate Finance team supports the company’s accounting operations and financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP. This role plays a key part in the month-end close and reporting processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, analyzing financial results, and supporting internal and external audits, as well as Forms 10-K and 10-Q filings. The Senior Accountant also assists with technical accounting research, maintains accounting policies, and contributes to process improvements and internal controls. This position partners with cross-functional teams to enhance processes and provide financial insights that support business decision-making. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and has a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. The pay scale for this position is $80,000 to $130,000 annually based on qualifications and experience.
Your Role:
- Prepare and review accounting and consolidation journal entries
- Review monthly reporting packages for accuracy, consistency, and completeness
- Perform detailed balance sheet and income statement (P&L) analyses
- Research and document technical accounting issues in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Support financial statement audits and SEC filings (Forms 10-Q and 10-K)
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of related accounting experience including U.S. GAAP reporting
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and/or financial reporting
- Experience with technical accounting research and documentation preferred
- Public accounting and/or SEC reporting experience preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required
