 Qualifications:

•    40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training current 8-hour refresher training is perferred.  Other OSHA training is desirable.  
•    Have the educational background to be able to obtain a professional license/registration such as an EIT, GIT, PE, PG or PMP.  Currently possessing a professional license/registration would be a plus.
•    Be able to pass background screening requirements including criminal history, motor vehicle check, drug testing, etc. is required.
•    Have successful past performance directing and supervising subcontractors.
•    Have strong technical, writing, and verbal communication skills.
•    Candidate must have a valid driver's license.
•    Candidate must be able to acquire access to federal facilities via obtaining a Common Access Card within 6 months of hire and maintain the access card/access to federal facility.

Education & Experience:  
To be considered for this position, a bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a civil or environmental engineering, geosciences, environmental science, or related technical discipline is required.  An advanced degree is a plus.  

•    The successful candidate should have 3 to 6 years of relevant experience with prior environmental compliance experience, experience with geologic, engineering, and scientific data interpretation on environmental projects including investigation, reporting, and permitting.  
•    Willingness and ability to travel as needed, approximately 10-20%.

This position requires the candidate to be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  Some heavy lifting may be required, and the ability to move about and/or remain stationary for extended periods is essential.  The physical demands of field activities can include: 
•    Sampling work such as lifting, maneuvering, positioning, and operating sampling/testing equipment (pumps, hoses, power cables, hand augers, sampling tools, etc.).  Moving earth via shovels or hand augers or removing vegetation via a machete or other device may be required. 
•    Traversing uneven and undeveloped ground is required.  Hauling and emptying 5-gallon buckets of purge/development water may be required.
•    Typical field activities also include the lifting of pumps, cases containing equipment, sample coolers and other items commonly weighing 1 to 60+ pounds.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  Employee will be required to work in various weather conditions—hot, cold, rainy, etc. Approximately 30 percent of work will be field work with the remaining work being performed in an office scenario.  This is a hybrid position, so home office/remote work is authorized.

Language & Communication Skills: Ability to read, research, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical documents and procedures, and government regulations and guidance documents will be required in this position.  The ability to effectively present information to customers, regulators, and coworkers, both orally and in written form, is also required.

Other Skills: Instructions: Having basic computer use skills required, advanced skills desirable.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products including MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook is required.  GIS familiarity a plus.
