Australia Awards is an integral part of Australia's development cooperation program with Indonesia and has enjoyed strong support from both governments for more than sixty years. Australia Awards addresses two key challenges: to fill a gap in the pool of individuals with the higher-level capacity to contribute to Indonesia's development; and the need for a strong deep relationship based on mutual understanding between Australia and Indonesia.

The role

The Scholar & Alumni Network Manager leads strategic alumni and scholar engagement for Australia Awards Indonesia, designing and delivering high-impact enrichment initiatives and grant programs that strengthen people-to-people ties and advance Australia’s public diplomacy. Leading the Linkages & Enrichment team, the Manager integrates alumni activities and grant delivery with communications and MEL, ensures inclusive, evidenceinformed programming, and liaises with DFAT and partners to align outcomes with bilateral priorities.

·       Manage and oversee the AAI Grants Program, ensuring alignment with DFAT objectives and inclusion outcomes.

·       Build and sustain institutional linkages between Australian and Indonesian universities, ministries, and professional associations, leveraging alumni to deepen bilateral cooperation and organisational partnerships.

·       Coordinate high-impact alumni/scholar networking and engagement events.

·       Support GEDSI programs, ensuring alignment with inclusive development principles and measurable impact.

·       Mainstream inclusivity across all activities, ensuring active participation of women, persons with disabilities, and other underrepresented groups.

·       Proven experience designing and delivering complex alumni, enrichment or professional development programs in international or development contexts

·       Track record building engagement strategies, networks and long‑term stakeholder relationships
