EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in toxicology, risk assessment, environmental/public health, biological sciences, or a related field
  • Candidates must have earned a Bachelor’s degree in a pertinent field of public health OR natural science
  • A minimum of 10-15 years of applicable experience
  • Demonstrated experience with human health, ecological and/or radiological risk assessments for New Mexico or at a Federal Facility a plus
  • Previous experience conducting third party reviews of risk assessments to ensure assessment defensibility, quality and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated experience with line management of technical staff
  • Demonstrated experience with negotiating with regulatory agencies
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills are required
  • Technical inquisitiveness, a positive attitude, and an ability to work well in teams are essential
  • Exhibit solid, practical skills in Microsoft Office applications (spreadsheet (Excel), word processing (Word), scheduling (Project))
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks, coordinate effectively with others, and work independently within a team
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to utilize critical thinking, a flexible approach to problem solving, excellent interpersonal communication (oral and written), planning, and organizational skills; and attention to detail
 
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Familiarity with the LANL site, access requirements, general employee requirements, and work environment preferred
  • The qualified candidate may be required to attain and maintain a DOE Q clearance
  • Complies with all health & safety policies and practices
  • Complies with all site access and security requirements
  • Individual must pass a pre-employment drug screen and accept all company policies. This position may require a physical fit-for-duty screen as well
