The Opportunity:

Tetra Tech is adding a Remediation Construction Specialist to our team!  

 

Location is flexible.  Home-based work locations are permitted, but reliable Internet service is essential.

Essential Job Functions:

 

The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions:
•    Support planning and execution of environmental remediation and civil earthwork construction projects.
•    Coordinate field activities, subcontractors, and project schedules to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
•    Perform and/or support field surveying using GPS equipment for site layout, progress tracking, and documentation.
•    Oversee and inspect erosion and sediment control measures to ensure compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
•    Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress, quality, and adherence to design specifications.
•    Support quality control (QC) processes, including documentation, verification of materials, and field compliance checks.
•    Assist with preparation and review of technical documents, including work plans, reports, and daily field logs.
•    Maintain organized project documentation using electronic filing and data management systems.
•    Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to resolve field issues and optimize project outcomes.
•    Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and company policies
•    Collect, document, and interpret field data related to remediation activities.
•    Support cost tracking, procurement, and project documentation efforts.
•    Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
•    Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards. 
•    Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
•    Travel to project sites as required (anticipated frequent travel depending on project needs).
•    Additional duties as required.
 

Required Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s degree in environmental-related fields (Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Studies, Geosciences, Sciences).
•    0–3+ years of experience in construction, environmental remediation, or civil earthwork projects (entry-level candidates with strong aptitude encouraged to apply). 
•    Basic understanding of erosion and sediment control practices and construction inspection processes.
•    Knowledge of quality control (QC) procedures in construction or environmental projects is a plus
•    Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
•    Ability to work independently and adapt to changing project demands.
•    Strong technical writing and documentation skills with excellent attention to detail.
•    Resourcefulness, time management, and innovative problem-solving abilities.
•    Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
•    Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions. 
Preferred Qualifications:
•    Previous field experience.
•    Experience or familiarity with GPS surveying equipment and field data collection.
•    Experience with electronic filing systems and digital project documentation tools.
•    Experience with AutoCAD and ArcGIS preferred.
•    OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.
•    OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Training preferred.


Physical Requirements:

•    Ability to walk rugged terrain and lift, carry, push, and pull equipment weighing up to 50lbs.
•    Climb, bend, and stand for extended periods of time.
•    Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and using a computer.

 

Work Environment / Environmental Factors:

•    Work in variable conditions including extreme (hot and cold) weather safely.
•    Work with and around heavy construction equipment and excavations on landfills, industrial sites, power plants, and coal ash sites.

 

Additional Information:

•    Willingness and ability to travel frequently and perform field work (potential 50% -80% travel).
•    This position can be home, office or project based and is subject to review and may change at the company’s discretion.

Compensation:

Pay commensurate with experience.
Pay range: $22-$26/hour

 

A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.
