Regulatory and Policy Advisor - Nigeria
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in public policy, law, economics, energy, or any other relevant field.
- Seven years of experience in regulatory or policy development in the energy sector.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and policy issues related to the energy sector, including licensing, tariffs, regulations, standards, and incentives.
- Experience engaging with government agencies, regulatory bodies, private sector stakeholders, and other sector enablers.
- Proven ability to analyze regulatory frameworks and advocate for policy changes that promote energy access and market development.
- Familiarity with international best practices in electricity regulation and policy development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills, with experience in conducting stakeholder consultations, developing advocacy strategies, and facilitating policy dialogues.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software, including MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams.
- Fluency in both spoken and written English.
Preferred but Not Required Qualifications

A master’s or higher degree in a relevant field.

Experience with USAID-funded projects.

Existing working relations with the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, Ministry of Power, Transmission Company of Nigeria, state governments agencies, research and development and industry organizations.
