Quality Manager

Purpose & Scope of the Role

Reporting to the Operating Unit Support Services Director, you will lead the development and implementation of quality principles, processes and practices across the OU. Working closely with Managing and Functional Directors, the Head of Health & Safety, Project Managers, support teams, SSHEQ colleagues and Tetra Tech quality teams globally, you will ensure our systems, documentation and accreditations remain effective, current and fit for purpose.

You will influence quality performance at every level, coaching colleagues, strengthening assurance and leading improvements that support safe, efficient and consistently high-quality delivery. You will also line-manage at least one team member, providing coaching, mentoring, objectives and appraisals in line with Tetra Tech’s HR processes.

5 Core Capabilities

• Quality Leadership: Develop and embed a quality culture across the OU, identify and deliver continuous improvement projects, produce and present the annual Management Review, and contribute to the monthly SSHEQ Board Report.
• Audit & Accreditation: Lead internal and external audits and accreditations, act as the OU focal point for auditors and external agencies, and undertake the annual RISQS rail audit, including maintaining RISQS, Sentinel and CIRAS portals and collating evidence.
• Systems & Documentation: Design, implement and review SSHEQ policies, procedures, templates and guidance; work with content owners to ensure OU documentation is accurate, up to date and compliant.
• Coaching & Collaboration: Deliver quality and SSHEQ training to all levels, collaborate across Tetra Tech Operating Units and globally with the Quality Director, participate actively in the Quality Council, and chair quarterly support services meetings, including minutes and action management.
• Feedback & Corrective Action: Monitor and manage customer and public complaints, compliments and feedback, ensuring appropriate preventative actions are implemented, while managing the SSHEQ corrective actions programme and undertaking other duties appropriate to the role.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

You will have in-depth knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, with Lead Auditor qualifications in each. Strong organisation, communication, coaching, training and Microsoft Office skills are essential, as is a demonstrable commitment to CPD. Membership of CQI as a Chartered Quality Professional (CQP MCQI), or willingness to achieve this, SSHEQ legislative knowledge, multi-disciplinary experience and understanding of the project lifecycle, such as MAPM, are desirable.

This role can be based anywhere in the UK. We offer hybrid and flexible working arrangements, with the opportunity to work remotely in line with business and project requirements. Expected office attendance and working patterns will be agreed with the successful candidate and appointing manager.
