LOCATION - FLEXIBLE / HOME BASED

The Environment Project Support Officer will work within our Environmental Project Support Team to assist our technical consultants in the delivery of diverse project portfolios.  The focus of the role will be on finance and administrative tasks.

The person taking on this role will receive instruction and guidance from experienced members of the Project Support Team.  Training and mentoring will be provided in relation to Tetra Tech systems, procedures and approaches. While not a technical role, there will be daily interactions with Environmental consultants so, although not necessary, an interest in people and in the Environment would be beneficial.

The role will be:

·       Desk-based (home or office), focusing primarily on finance and administrative related tasks.

·       Part of the Environment Project Support Team, assisting across the UK-based Environment business, and particularly supporting our Programme and Project Managers. 

·       Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are required to liaise with technical team members on tasks such as draft invoicing and timesheet updates. Confidence to pick up the phone and to use Teams video calls is necessary (training can be provided).

·       Able to work in a team environment, as well as independently.

·       Many tasks will be related to project controls and compliance.  A good understanding of key financial terms such as cost budgets, forecasting, invoicing and cash collection would be beneficial.

·       The role will involve dealing with timesheet updates, queries and support so a good understanding of the importance of accurate timesheet recording will be required along with an ability to proactively request changes as and when required.

·       With a good understanding of Tetra Tech’s Project Lifecycle and associated procedures (training provided), to support the Project Support Team and the Environment business with project administration.

·       Experience working with financial systems and able to adapt to Tetra Tech’s systems in a methodical and robust way. 

·       Knowledge of cost budgets, monitoring, forecasting, invoicing and cash collection, and understanding the importance of delivering actions in line with monthly financial requirements.

·       Strong time-management and organisational skills and able to perform and prioritise multiple tasks with attention to detail.

·       Provide support with report formatting, word processing and data entry.

·       Other tasks may also be required including, but not limited to, those relating to financial procedures, reporting, project setup, monitoring, tracking of training, bid and proposal support, report formatting, word processing and data entry.

·       Provide cover for leave/absences within the Environment Project Support Team which may mean undertaking amended tasks.
