Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Project Manager for environmental investigations and remediation projects. This position can be performed fully remote or hybrid if proximity to one of our many offices.  The selected candidate will serve as a Project Manager and Technical Lead and be responsible for developing and leading proposals with support from a team of professionals including scientists, engineers, technicians, accountants, and contracts specialists. Projects and proposals will primarily be for the DoD, including, but not limited to, USACE, Air Force, and Navy.  Other clients may include states, municipalities, and commercial industry. Your Role:

 The candidate’s primary responsibilities will consist of project management, providing technical leadership, and developing and leading proposals in the environmental restoration industry.  Project Management will include technical, financial, and schedule management; interacting with and supporting client counterparts; and managing project staff and resources.  Proposal Lead responsibilities will include developing and writing technical/management approaches with the support of technical staff, developing project budgets and schedules, and overseeing other required proposal elements.  The position will be primarily home office or office-based but may require site visits or oversight of field work, potentially in harsh environmental conditions (e.g., extreme heat or cold, inclement weather).  Some travel will be required.  Essential duties for this position include: 
•    Review and understand government Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Performance Work Statements/Statements of Work (PWS/SOW).
•    Organize and direct a team of professionals to develop and submit successful proposals.
•    Establish performance schedules with clients and other team members and work to ensure those schedules are met. 
•    Provide technical and management leadership in development and/or implementation of projects.
•    Manage project finances including all aspects of budgets, costs, and contingencies.
•    Provide project-level financial progress reports.
•    Manage multiple, concurrent projects.
•    Prepare and monitor scopes, schedules, and budgets as necessary for all projects.
•    Plan and implement complex multi-media sampling programs and manage and oversee multiple field staff and subcontractors to ensure work is completed in accordance with specifications. 
•    Direct and support development of sampling and analysis plans and quality assurance project plans.
•    Direct assimilation of project data into coherent products for project team review and presentation.
•    Direct and prepare environmental reports, including data interpretation, tabulation and mapping of analytical results, and determining compliance with regulatory requirements. 
•    Develop and deliver technical presentations to reviewers and engage in meaningful discussion to find pathways to address uncertainties and data gaps.  

Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s Degree in a discipline related to environmental restoration (e.g., geology, civil engineering, environmental science) is required. Advanced degree is a plus.
•    A minimum of 8 years of experience with a progressive increase in responsibility is required. An advanced degree from an accredited university can substitute one year of professional experience.
•    Experience with government and commercial projects is beneficial but not mandatory.
•    Experience preparing proposals is mandatory.
•    Experience leading proposal preparation is preferred.
•    Technical experience working on and leading environmental restoration projects.

•    Possession of a professional registration (i.e., Professional Engineer (PE)/Professional Geologist (PG)) is preferred.
•    Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is a plus.
•    A driver’s license current and valid for a state in the United States is required.

•    Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
•    Proficiency delivering technical and business presentations.
•    Experience preparing proposals for complex, multi-media environmental assessment and remediation programs.
•    Experience leading teams conducting multimedia sampling, including groundwater, soil, sediment, air, and/or soil gas.
•    A practical understanding of drilling and installation of monitoring wells.
•    The ability to lead, manage, and mentor mid- and junior-level staff and subcontractor personnel.

The salary range for this position is $130,000 to $165,000.if full time annually.   Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
