Project Estimator
The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is adding a Project Estimator to lead landfill gas, leachate, and construction projects across the country. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing estimating, budget, technical support, for a variety of solid waste management related projects. Typical projects include drilling, landfill gas pipeline, leachate collection installation systems, wastewater treatment, control system compliance, maintenance and repairs, geosynthetic lining and engineering.

Your Role:
• Review project specifications and drawings and perform accurate take-offs which include material determination and quantities.
• Ensure compliance by implementing corporate estimating standards, policies, guidelines and quality requirements.
• Obtain and review pricing from subcontractors and vendors to ensure completeness in scope, bonds, insurance, freight, labor, schedule, pricing, taxes, price validation and conformance to corporate policies and procedures.
• Responsible for meeting the schedule and quality requirements for executive project and pricing reviews.
• Obtain a thorough understanding of all project risks, technical specifications and developed scopes of work.
• Prepare and allow the Project Manager to review and sign off on the executive summary and bid documents.
• Guide the staff involved with the estimate regarding pricing strategies, subcontractors, cash flow, unit price, front loading, etc.
• Perform various other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• 0 – 3 years of experience. Willing to train if you have some experience in estimating and/or project management, with a degree in Construction Management, Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Preferred experience in civil, pipeline, or landfill gas systems.
• Ability to read blueprints/drawings and details.
• Ability to demonstrate aptitude in budget and schedule monitoring, and control responsibilities.
• Preferred experienced in client relations.
• Leader and team player possessing strong planning and organizational skills.
• Preferred experience with state and federal environmental regulations and regulatory negotiations.
• Possess a valid driver license.
• Ability to travel up to 30% for client and company needs.
• Strong computer skills in Excel, Word, Adobe.

Compensation:
Salary commensurate with experience.
Salary Range: Up to $26.50/hour depending on skills and experience.
A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.
